SHOW & LAMB AWARDS DINNER – INVITATION TO ATTEND
Come and enjoy a great night out to celebrate the 2017 Show and the presentation of the Awards to the winners of the Lamb Competition.
To be held this year at the Poachers Paradise Hotel, Main Street, Rutherglen – only $50 a head for a head for 3 courses – entrée/nibbles, main and dessert.

Financial members are advised that their Membership tickets (for entry to the Agricultural Show on 22 October 2017) are now available for collection from the Show Office, Henderson Pavilion, 171 High Street, Rutherglen.
You can collect your tickets when lodging entries or at any time prior during office hours – between 10 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday leading up to the Show.
New applications for membership may also be lodged at the Show Office at any time.

CATTLE CLASSES RETURN TO THE SHOW
This year we have Junior Cattle Handling and Junior Cattle Judging as well as some Heifer Classes.

This year we have split the classes to make it safer for youngsters to join in the fun.

DEVELOPMENT OF POLICIES
A number of proposed enhancements to the Society’s business practices are being developed with introduction proposed over the coming two years.
Included in these enhancements are adoption of policies to meet legislative changes and to facilitate the change to on-line entries for the annual wine Show.
Two new policies Privacy Policyand Refund Policy were adopted at the Committee’s meeting on 21 June 2017 and are available under the “Downloads” tab on the website.

CHANGE OF SOCIETY’S STAFF
Following the retirement of Mark and Zelma Eltringham, our new Secretary/Treasurer with responsibility for the presentation of the Wine Show, facility management and the Society’s administration, Is Geoff O'Dwyer who commenced on 20 March 2017.
Mrs Diane O'Dwyer remains as Show Secretary, responsible for the planning and staging of the annual Rutherglen Agricultural Show.
NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS
We welcome our new Committee Members - David Waters (Rutherglen) and Max Heinjus (Springhurst). The Committee would like to express the sincere appreciation of the Society for the long years of services contributed by retiring Committee Member Ken Grantham.
IMPROVEMENTS TO HENDERSON PAVILION CONTINUE
The functionality and appearance of the meeting room at the Pavilion has been greatly improved by the installation of second-hand kitchen benches and cupboards etc. Our thanks go to Mrs Evelyn Alger for her very generous donation.
Further improvements are commencing shortly with a grant to update the toilets (seal floors and paint) and other minor works.
THE PUBLIC TASTING will be held on Friday 29 September - 6.30 pm. to 10 p.m. Tickets MUST BE pre-purchased as places are limited.
THE AWARDS DINNER will be held on Thursday 28 September at the Rutherglen Memorial Hall. Limited seating is available to members of the Public. Please contact us if you with to attend.
